La Cattura is one of the few Italian reds we've featured whose primary varietal is Teroldego. Normally found in Trentino (Northern Italy) the varietal is finding a new home among the sunny foothills and expanse of vineyards in Tuscany. What we love about Teroldego is the beautiful aromatics, complexity and structure with lower alcohol content (12.5%). It's an expression of organic viticulture. Medium-bodied, fresh, velvety with well integrated tannins, and 12 months in French oak. We really enjoyed this bottle with chicken parmigiana. In a picture perfect vintage, this Italian red is a standout for the price!
